Pros

Good salary and bonus scheme for hospitality industry. Good incentives on stays in the company's hotels all around Europe for very low (empolyee)rates. Frequent trainings in the company's HQ in Munich.

Cons

It is hospitality industry. Working environment really depends on the hotel manager. Have experienced from very good environment to very bad, as I have worked in numerous locations.

Dear former colleague, Thank you for your review. I'm happy to read that you mentioned our salary and bonus scheme, employee rates and the trainings in Munich so positively. At Motel One we treat everyone equally and with respect. Our managers are therefore being trained regularly. I'm sorry to hear that we didn't meet our own standards in your case. I wish you all the best. Regards, Fabian Frey

Pros

Nice public areas . Food On duty but that’s where it stops

Cons

Weird company to work in the way it does things & operates ! Doesn’t pay overtime not even on bank holidays You get a “bonus” if it hits all the targets , that’s a big IF One thinks of German efficiency in todays modern economy but not with this one sadly ! A lot of things still done on paper & then put computer , why ? Do any other hotels in the U.K. still use registration cards ? Motel one does , bizarre Most beds are continental twins , this is the U.K. No hot food at breakfast No enough staff on duty Too much management , that old saying too many chiefs etc My hotel was clicky , staff relationships etc It’s like the old saying all fur coat & no knickers Would not recommend this company . While the hotel is a good design doesn’t make it a good employer

Dear former colleague, Thank you for your review and the time you've invested in writing it. I'm sorry to hear we didn't leave a good impression with you. At Motel One overtime is noted in the duty roster and can be reduced later by taking days off. In addition, Motel One pays night and holiday bonuses, depending on the collective agreement. Due to the current situation and the prevailing shortage of skilled workers in the hotel industry, it can unfortunately happen that departments are temporarily understaffed. This is of course not our intention. I wish you all the best. Kind regards, Fabian Frey

Crazy but a lot of fun

Pros

Super nice collegues, a lot of training, new things to do everyday, you never get bored, leave early

Cons

A lot of work and too many guests for too little staff, so it is really physically demanding, you go from hostess to waitress, baker, cleaner. The hardest part is that the shift starts from 5 to 7, so you have to be there from 4:30 to 6:30 (it varies), but the public transport only starts at 6 so you have to have a car.
