Despite being a 10+ year old company, there's been little to no investment in building a mature Analytics function. Analysts spend too much time on foundational tasks, yet face pressure from the managers. Plus, analysts in each domain report to business heads and there's no no centralized analytics leads. This creates confusion as they're constantly pulled between product and business teams. No proper reporting tool leads to inefficient analyses. The company doesn't want to spend onto tooling. I felt like there was no ongoing investment in the team in terms of headcounts, therefore analysts keep reinventing the wheel instead of building on past work. Lots of employees left in recent years. Company follows top-down decision making strategies which contributing to a lack of transparency and engagement, like a recent removal of full remote work and work from different locations.
