Pros

Flexible work schedule: half Fridays or every other Friday off Good benefits Mostly nice employees Interesting line of work Company willing to rotate you between jobs Promotes diversity & inclusion

Cons

Because Raytheon is a government contractor, it is a long process to get promoted. Raytheon is a very traditional "check the boxes" to get promoted company. While it's partially based on merit, you won't get promoted even if you're already doing the job as a rockstar if you don't meet the 10 qualifications, such as longevity. (Must work between 4-6 years to get a level 3, 6-8 for a level 4, etc).

Pros

The company has a good work-life balance and does not have a cut-throat culture. The company is huge and has lots of opportunities. Although the industry is going through rough times, it is still one of the more stable industries for job stability.

Cons

The industry and company can be very slow moving in terms career and business. They have a lot of processes and red-tape which can stop movers-and-shakers. The bureaucracy can be too much sometimes and promotions are based mostly on seniority. Although, they have a good culture the company is made up of middle-aged white men.
