Pros

Better than average overall pay and benefits. Work with great and talented people. A lot of perks, extras and unique programs (if you know where to look and if you qualify).

Cons

Employment is contingent on contract: loss of contract = loss of job. Disconnected from the rest of the company. Some benefits are not available to all employees.

Pros

Good benefits, reasonably good pay, some interesting work, good job security (highly dependent on your business unit), many good lower level workers

Cons

The bureaucracy is often stifling and upper management is so risk averse (or lazy) that it's impossible to get any new, interesting work started.

Pros

Flexible schedule allowed me to work extra to make up time, or take off every other Friday. Competent management protected employees from customer when needed

Cons

Strict pay scale when working in government contract, severely limits pay and employee could find more competitive compensation with other companies that do not support government customers.
