Pros

Principle-based Chairman and great workers in the factories.

Cons

Lost their way with the awful fellow from Pepsico. I can't believe the leadership allowed the destruction of the culture.

SC Johnson Response

We’re sorry that you wouldn’t recommend SCJ. We’ve been through a fair amount of change in recent years, and we know it takes some time to settle in after change…but we do believe our unique culture is alive and well. Your post says you were at SCJ less than a year. It sounds like in that time, we didn’t bring to life for you the best aspects of SCJ. We appreciate the feedback.

Pros

401K??? I don't see any other Pro.

Cons

Many of the Marketing and Sales Directors (there are few exceptions) are people that look down on you (the higher the level, the worse). It's pretty interesting that there are no african-american Marketing or Sales Directors but they talk a lot about diversity. Work-life balance??? Inexistent. Family Company? To be family owned doesn't mean that you or your family are important for the company. You can go to the JMBA! Yes.. but if you leave in Chicago it's pretty far... You can buy products at the Company store!... Yes... but if you leave in Chicago you spend more money and time going to Racine than going to Target/WM. So, many of the benefits are for people around Racine or working there. Unhuman Resources. They don't know who you are and they don't understand the different functions.
