A crumbling consumer products giant

Pros

The pay is good especially for longer term employees. Cash profit sharing is a very nice benefit. New senior management that's been brought in over the last several years is completely changing this company - decreasing costs and benefits and increasing profitably (presumably).

Cons

New senior management that's been brought in over the last several years is completely changing this company - slashing jobs. Replacing SCJ US jobs with contract positions in India and elsewhere. They see very little value in the skills and experience of the existing workforce. The prior senior and middle managers have no ability or power to drive existing projects. Their mandate is to enforce the restructuring driven from above. Long term employees have been abandoned and driven from the company. No career advancement opportunities for younger, less costly, employees. Little future as an employee.

Gone so downhill since covid

Pros

- So lean that you are forced to learn so much so quickly which is good for development - Half day Fridays - Can move to Switzerland if you’re interested

Cons

- Terrible WFH policy- have to be in the office 4 days a week which is so far away from competition post-covid. Half of the time you’re forced in the office by senior management and no one else is there so it’s not about being “better together” - Overworked and underpaid- salary way below market and overworked for the salary you’re on - Very political- questionable decisions by management to suit workplace politics (both business and promotions/hiring)

Pros

BUPA , gym on site , massages on site heavily discounted , discounted canteen meals , discounted shop on site, half Friday (you are working more on the rest of the week to make up for Fridays hours) , 1 day a week WFH , treats and freebies every now and then , English breakfast offered on Friday's, profit share , relaxed atmosphere and nice people in general working there and many other benefits that I’m forgetting at the moment Career opportunities inside the company

Cons

Majority of the leadership in Frimley are working many years in the company and are approaching retirement, therefore they can’t inspire and motivate due to lack of interest from their side to do their job. Atmosphere sometimes is too relaxed and the behaviors from colleagues are not professional at times Salaries unfortunately are to low in comparison with similar positions in other companies and specially now with all the inflation going up and taxes rising the small salaries will be even smaller Constantly there is a feeling that you are replaceable, I never felt for example that I made any impact to the business as no one bothered to acknowledge it , there is no recognition and appreciation no matter how hard you work The roles are as lean as possible , it means that for this little salary you will given lots of tasks and responsibilities and you will be thrown under the bus and blamed if you don’t manage the huge volumes of work Working from home is only once a week and given the company location in Frimley you will need to spend time and money for commute Training when you are a first starter is almost not existing Turnover of staff very often If I would summarize I would say Salary -location - non flexible - careless leadership- 0 appreciation for the employees
