Pros

You are always busy so the time goes quickly

Cons

They do not pay you what they say or put you in the location you apply for. You do not get your contract until 2 weeks after you start with all the clauses by then its too late. The cleaning was a major part of the day: toilets, mousse dropping and urine, scrubbing floors and mopping floors, clean shutter doors, windows, gate and lift rails. I was the cleaner, maintenance person, security, debt collector, locksmith, admin clerk, telesales centre for all UK stores, sales person and complaints manager. You work on your own to man the entire site unless its a super site with 1000-1500 units then you will be 2 people. You get your days off when they feel like giving them to you. You may work 7 days in a row as they are always short staffed and they say that as long as they give us 8 days off in 1 month its fine. The rota is dictated by head Office. Store managers have no power or authority on anything. You do not get a lunch break. You are supposed to get half hour unpaid but you are not allowed to leave the store and have to serve people when they come in even if you are eating

Thanks for your review, we now ensure that the role is fully explained to candidates before they join us, in fact part of the recruitment process is to spend some time visiting a store. The role profile, is mainly customer service and sales based, but there will also be some health and safety and cleaning tasks.

Pros

The weekend hours are decent, HR team is efficient.

Cons

You will clean more then sell, you will deal with mice, you are treated like janitors. It's the higher managers way or NO way. You cannot choose which store you work in, they will relocate you at any time to suit them. Progression is done only if you jump through hoops to get it. Salary is RUBBISH!

Thanks for your feedback. I am sorry that you felt disillusioned in your role. It is true that part of the role will involve cleaning and administration work, which is clearly defined at interview. We also explain the store locations within the district you are employed, as their will be times when you will be required to cover or move to other stores. I am pleased that you also recognise the work life balance we aim to provide with no late evening opening or long weekend hours.
