"Liberate and Govern" - it's not just a marketing message it's how the company is run
Pros
One of the few organizations that truly understands the importance of achieving the right balance between financial discipline and innovation/growth. The way the webMethods acquisition was handled has left me with a huge amount of respect for senior management. The cultural differences (wM = high growth, maverick 'startup'; SAG = established, stable and well disciplined) could have been the downfall of the deal but the way they were blended and leveraged is the reason it has been a huge success.
Cons
Can take time to get noticed and really make a difference, but when you do the effort is worth it. There are some shortcomings in terms of being one of the industry's top organization's to work for, but senior management is aware and appears to be actively addressing.
