Pros

Salary is great. but Negotiate well. Great insurance coverage (but not useful* see Cons) Remote work is great. Basic material provided (computer, cheap headset, cheap monitor).

Cons

I will only talk about the invalidity department (it's really nice working for Sun Life in the other departments). Terrible work environment. Overload of work, impossible to meet the target or offer good service (you will have too many cases). Everyone on my team was doing unpaid overtime to meet the unrealistic goals (because of the threats of course). Stress environment+++ Managers use dictatorship or threats (let me know how much you like it!). The irony of working in the invalidity dept. : if you ever get an Invalidity leave you will get NO HELP from your insurance coverage with Sun Life. (3 of my colleagues went on Invalidity and hated the company after - they received no help and Sun Life did everything to not pay them). You have better service and better benefits if you are a customer rather than an employee. Be careful of equality. I was offered less than my colleagues. After asking around, we discovered that only ''white folks'' on this team had a higher salary... Questions were raised...no clear answer found yet.

Pros

wow make your own schedule

Cons

-they will sell the job to you -once your in you must pay monthly for your office, pay for everything you print, deal with plenty of unhappy exisiting clients -you only get paid if you sell a policy yet they give you no leads or any advice on finding new clients so you better hope you know a lot of people who want to buy over priced insurance. I have been at this role for 2 years now and its just awful, dont even start or you will regret your decision very shortly

Pros

Possible career opportunity Good benefits Good salary Easy to get raises Full time job

Cons

Exhausting to another level Focused on performance even if the staff is overworked Praise that they want to offer good service but they care more about reaching the stats than anything else (average call time, adherence to the schedule, product sells rate etc) Anti union memtality Old school mentality Breaks are not enjoyable since you are stressed about logging in and out on time Higher management not aware of staff condition on site or doesnt care
