Pros

Technology is interesting, product is unique, and there is a ton of job satisfaction. Some of the most intelligent people I have worked with. There is so much engineering done "in-house" that it provides tremendous opportunities to learn and grow your career.

Cons

Absolutely no work life balance. Tesla is hiring rapidly and the quality of people coming in are not the same caliber of what they used to be. There is a great deal of politics and back stabbing even at the lower levels. Too many manager types and not enough people willing to do actual work

Pros

The team that I worked for was incredible and the leadership in Draper was fantastic.

Cons

Upper leadership in this department are a joke. Hands down, the most vile, toxic, and overall terrible leaders I have ever had to work with.

Pros

The pay is slightly above average. The Health, Dental, Vision benefits are very good. Work/Life balance is slightly above average.

Cons

I had 6 Managers in 18 Months. You are but a number to the Company - A cost to be reduced and are simply a Metric to be manipulated...nothing more. Goals and Metrics can change on the whim of a tweet and the metrics frequently do not align with the actual goals (sometimes they are even contradictory). Leadership is so self absorbed by their own self preservation that there is no time to lead - only suck up to whoever is the current leader for that Department for that short period of time before they too are ousted. I was overworked. Always. If you start to catch up on your tasks, they will pile on even more while eliminating the required staffing level required to even provide a bare minimum of service to customers. Tesla (Mainly Elon) doesn't want to say they are a "Car Company" and refuses to fit into that mold - HOWEVER Tesla now has over 5 Million vehicles on the road that need maintenance and repairs (and charging). It is baffling to myself as well as the Industry as a whole why the entire Supercharging team was dismissed when they had been absolutely CRUSHING all metrics. Tesla thrived DESPITE poor Leadership, not because of it. Every week for 5 weeks in a row there are more layoffs. Moral is decimated. Those left are now hunting for new jobs while those let go are stunned at home. The most Educated, Talented, and Hardworking people were let go with no notice other than a cold email in the middle of the night. And that should tell you everything you need to know about your Value in the Company. What once was a vibrant and thrilling Company to work for is but a shell of itself and is rapidly being dismantled from the top down. Until the CEO is removed and replaced I don't see how Tesla will ever be able to regain trust with the workers and the people that buy them.
