Pros

It's free here. You can ask any technical oriented questions you want to, and everyone who knows it will be willing to answer it for you. Most of people here are friendly, and nice. I made many friends in this company. To me, this is not only a place to work in, but also a sweet home to live in.

Cons

Technical training is still not enough. Sometimes bosses just don't know what we would like to get. We all want to learn more, and to be better and better. Trivial works just make everybody fatigue without any sense of accomplishment.

Pros

There are very intelligent people at Texas Instruments. I am continually impressed by the caliber of people I work with and meet peripherally outside my particular business unit. From what I understand, the benefits are comparable for a company this size.

Cons

It is surprising that a collection of such intelligent people does not yield better results. The motto seems to be 'do more with less' taken to an extreme. Work/life balance takes a severe hit when resources are assigned on the edge of reality. You can only pad a schedule so much when the resources for a project are pulled in many directions. There is also not much feedback on performance other than yearly compensation review. This process is somewhat shrouded for an individual contributor.
