Pros

Texas Instruments has the widest array of customers of any SC company. There are great opportunuties to excel and to work on the latest technologies and newest products. Innovation is valued and there is a culture of always striving to do better. Never be satisfied with the good results of yesterday.

Cons

SC is a tough and competitive market. Costs are always being driven down and expectations are high with ever tightening schedules. TI is not immune to these pressure and it can make for some stressful days.

Pros

The high level of transparency in management, attention to ethics, respect for people and the opportunities to excel. The people here are really great. I have no fears that TI will become another Enron, or that our retirement benefits will disappear, or that there is some big secret that management is not telling us. We get all of the news, whether we want to hear it, whether it's good news or bad!

Cons

It is more then a 40 hour a week job, with today's connectivity options we are never really "oof-line" no matter where we may be or what time it is.

Pros

It is a flexible friendly work environment where ideas are welcomed. The company is involved in many outside initiatives to develop the surrounding community and the City of Dallas. There is an open door policy that allows for feedback and some opportunity to be involved in initiatives outside of your job.

Cons

Some of the downsides relate to diversity. While there is a huge focus on diversity from a staffing perspective many hiring managers just do not take this as a priority. Managers also dont have a good understanding of a variety of cultures and works and doesnt work for them. In addition, all management does not recognize generational differences in terms of work styles and communication.
