Pros

Great pay, travel, work experience. Meet friends for life. Have schooling paid for. Promotion and different jobs a guarantee. Choices in work.

Cons

Dangerous, bad management, no control over hours and location. It's can be what you make of it, but sometimes it's hard to ignore the bad when everyone is suffering

Pros

Great health benefits and pay for Commissioned Officers and Senior NCOs. Junior Soldiers are also provided free housing, health care, and food. Despite what the media says, military personnel are not underpaid. When stateside, all federal holidays are days off, and you also get "training holidays" at least once a month, which are usually a 3 or 4 day weekend. Job proficiency doesn't matter. At all. Everyone gets promoted unless they do something illegal or immoral.

Cons

They change uniforms and make you pay hundreds of dollars for new gear. Long hours, high stress, and work in all weather conditions. They could care less about work-life balance. Most commands treat you as a number instead of a person.

Pros

Good salary, Multiple locations, Broadening experiences, Professional development

Cons

Being treated as less then others due to a career that is not combat arms. Bias in the rating system due to the same lousy mindset ingrained in most combat arms leaders and units.
