Used to be a good company, now they're too big for their own good

Decent wages, steady work, no layoffs. Work indoors in the AC, no hard manual labor.

Cons

Incompetent management, favoritism, one department does all the work, no options for advancement, no counseling before hand-just an ambush write-up.

Pros

Great family atmosphere, very cognizant of family priorities. Management is very open and willing to talk, all the way up to a CEO position. Highly paid positions, great benefits. Communication is very important to TK, along with employee involvement. There are no offices at TK, all employees are in cubicles.

Cons

No close location to live in an "upscale" community.

Very diversified exposure to learn about all aspects of executing projects; good for gaining personal expertise. Adequate fair remuneration for responsibiliy assigned. Staff liked to stay very long with the company: average 10+ years. Pro-business local management.

Cons

Company was relatively small and could not take on projects > USD 50mil due to lack of personnel resources and head quarter backing. Modern computerization was hampered due to lack of approval of funds to upgrade
