Pros

1. The working culture is good here. There are frequent interactions between all employees. 2. An engineer will be able to sustain in other companies easily if he has completed considerable amount of years at Uhde India.

Cons

2. No facilities for emergency food intakes, internet, and recreational activities for all employees. 3. During the course of the project, we seldom get time for ourselves. We have to overwork daily without getting paid for it. 4, The commercial department here has a problem in quoting/bidding for projects (or they are not experts in their art). As a result, all other employees are deemed to suffer due to less work. 5. The promotions here are of no use - anyway the package given at Uhde India is comparatively less than what employees are getting at other consultancies. 6. Lastly, there is not enough guidance and expertise here apart from Caustic projects.

Wasteful Senior Management

Pros

Team members, Hybrid work, Direct manager’s flexibility and work life balance, Pay and Direct manager’s job knowledge.

Cons

The onboarding process was slow and lacked clarity, making it difficult to get up to speed efficiently Employees earned minimal vacation time, which did not improve with tenure. Direct manager and some team members often showed little patience with those who didn’t learn at their pace, creating a discouraging work environment. Upper management often made decisions that were wasteful or disconnected from day-to-day operations. There was a noticeable lack of open communication and active listening from upper leadership. Senior leadership showed limited understanding of the technology and tools required for our roles, which affected overall team performance and morale. Career development is based on who you know.

Pros

There was always consistent work with this company. The pay was decent but considering the amount of work and attention to detail that was required the pay should have been significantly higher. It was, prior to Thyssenkrupp taking the contract to take over the majority of the operations of the quality department.

Cons

As a person of color, knowing that this company was founded by a former member of the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (cough, cough) never sat well with me, but what was even worse was the company culture. Every corporation loves to boast about diversity but the way coworkers acted and treated me and the company culture left me always feeling as if I didn’t belong.
