Good vacation time, 0-5 years experience gets you 3 weeks vaca, and that bumps to 4 weeks vaca at 5 years of service.

I believe the benefits are a large part of what makes GE attractive as an employer. They work you very hard, create a stressful environment, and rearrange management way too much, but then they provide you with good insurance, great retirement matching, employee discounts, and more. GE makes sure the benefits are great to make it easier for overworked employees to stay.

High Cost, High Deductable plan

No benefits for Co-Ops, however the co-op period does count for when you begin your full-time employment, so there is no 90 day grace period upon hire.

way too expensive, for GE being in healthcare business it is a shame. Every single friend of mine has better benefits through their employers who are nowhere near the size and strength of GE.

The free usage of the onsite gym is nice - once you visit a set number of times, it's free. Kinda rough to be there working out with your co-workers though. The last thing I want to do in the gym is get sucked into a conversation about work stuff. The health care with dental and vision is just average for the industry. There are three plans to choose form, but the out of pocket costs are pretty high no matter what you choose. They've just instituted a new bonus program for all senior professional band employees, so that is definitely an attractive (and long overdue) perk.

Pros: Great leadership training program. Vacation time allowed is good. Compensation depends on the line of the business you're in but overall competitive. Cons: Healthcare coverage is expensive, much of the cost is shifted to the insured. No longer offers a pension plan to new hires.

Excellent benefits package including 401K, Tuition reimbursement, vacation time off paid. GE is well recognized for its management effectiveness as well.
