I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Docusign (New York, NY)
Interview
My recent interview experience was turned completely negative due to the in-house recruiter I spoke with.
First off, he showed up almost 10 minutes late to our scheduled time and didn't bother to acknowledge that.
Next, he seemed distracted or preoccupied during the call. I could hear he was just giving me an "uhuh" and "mhm" every few moments. There would then be a long pause after I finished my response until he seemed like he had snapped out of a trance. He wouldn't even follow up to anything I said.
At the end of the call, he told me he wanted me to move on to the next round of the interview process and that he would reach out to me within a day or two in order to schedule the next steps with the hiring manager. He told me if I didn't hear back from him in 2 days, to email him back.
Several days went by and I did not hear any response, so I emailed him back. I waited a few more days and still no response, so I emailed him again to make sure I was still on his radar.
After that second note, he finally responded and told me they have decided to no longer pursue my candidacy, without any other information. I asked for further details, as I seemed very much aligned to the experience and skill set they were looking for. He told me it's because I don't have experience managing a specific customer type.
That would be a reasonable explanation, except that I spent a major part of our phone screen speaking about how I have years of experience managing the EXACT customer type they were looking for. (Not to mention he already told me they want me to move on in the process and meet the hiring manager...?)
Clearly, this recruiter had misrepresented me completely to the hiring team.
I emailed him back asking if there was any sort of miscommunication or if he may have gotten me mixed up with a different candidate, as literally the first bullet point on my resume is how I have experience with the specific type of client they were looking for and I know we discussed it thoroughly during the phone screen.
I received no response.
I followed up several days later and still, no response.
I am super bummed as I love DocuSign as a company and this role had me all sorts of excited. To think that I missed my opportunity to be a part of this amazing organization due to a careless recruiter really hurts.
I'll still hold out hope that another role at DocuSign will arise and I will have a chance to be accurately represented. For now, I will remain disappointed that such an amazing opportunity was taken away from me by a careless recruiter.
Reading some of the other reviews, it seems that other individuals who interviewed for the role had a similar experience. So if anybody from DocuSign reads this, I hope they take a look at who they are using to recruit for this role and perhaps review some of the amazing candidates who slipped through the crack.

Question 1
How do you have difficult conversations with customers?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Docusign (San Francisco, CA) in May 2018
Interview
I attended a recruiting event at the beautiful SF office and was contacted after for an onsite interview. The initial interview was about an hour and it was a resume deep dive- each role, what the responsibilities were, what I liked and disliked about it, etc.
I was invited back after for an onsite interview with 4 people: One senior leader in Customer Success, one Account Manager, one Professional Services Manager, and one CSM. Each interview was about a half hour. Each person was very professional and friendly. You can tell they hire A players.
After positive feedback from this round, I met the team lead once onsite another time.
Overall, the team was very communicative and professional. Great candidate experience.

Question 1
What was a time when you failed to meet client expectations, and how did you recover trust in the account?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Docusign in May 2018
Interview
Their recruitment has a hiring process that is unconventional, and not in a good way. After initial contact it took at least a couple proactive follow-ups by myself with their recruiter to nail down a date and time for the interview with him. The phone interview went great as everything discussed seems to match up perfectly and I was informed to wait while he scheduled the phone interview with the hiring manager, and then he went radio silent for at least a week regardless of periodic follow-up over email.
The following week I receive an invite to attend their CSM hiring social the next week, then I reply asking about the status of the aforementioned interview with the hiring manager, where I finally receive a response that they've been trying to coordinate with the hiring manager since she's been out of office. So I go ahead and sign up for the prospective CSM social to meet with the leadership and others.
The hiring social comprised of all the CSM new hire competition, whom were in attendance to listen to Docusign's department leadership in a panel format. After the panel finished the leadership group was mobbed by many of the prospects, which left the remaining folks to socialize with their competition. The feeling here is the recruiter and team leaders wanted to meet and speak to the prospects in person, but the one to many format didn't seem to work out for many of the applicants.
I spoke to one of their existing CSMs during the event and they did not seem to have a good grasp of their designated roles. Which led me to believe that the role will be implementing new practices and strategies and moving on from previous ones.
After the event I sent a thank you reply to the recruiter, whom again told me to stand by for next steps. I proceed to follow up via email once a week thereafter.
Weeks later, I get a short email from the recruiter mentioning that they will be moving on with more aligned applicants... So the scheduling of interview with the hiring manager falls through completely? And my resume and first interview that matches their search criteria to the tee doesn't cut it? I can't help but to feel this has turned into a severely unfair situation.
