I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (New York, NY)
Interview
Initial contact by a recruiter, a really nice and professional person then 3 rounds of interviews with 3 different people. I ended up being rejected because i am more of a sales person and they are looking for someone with a certain balance between sales and customer service (their words).
I appreciate the feedback though and how professional the process was.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
situationl and behavioural questions, you can find those on their hubspot academy articles, they actually use these to ask the questions.
1st - Initial Recruiter Call
2nd - Hiring Manager Call
3rd - 3 round interview with panel
Initial call with recruiter went well. Explained previous roles, experience, education and how I would be a fit into HubSpot and the role.
Hiring Manager Zoom was great as well. They are asking behavior questions and want you to use the Star method throughout.
I felt the interviews went well but only received an automatic email stating they were not moving forward. When I asked for helpful guidance or in-depth answer for the rationale of not moving forward to the next stage, I was blanked over email. If an applicant makes effort to learn about the role, products and takes time off work, I would recommend giving them feedback as you state on your website -
Feedback helps us grow.
We share feedback with candidates after interviews to help them improve for the future, and we always ask how we can improve via our candidate survey and Glassdoor reviews.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Tell me about a time when.....
Explain day-to-day processes..
Current role....
Strengths, weaknesses...
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (New York, NY) in Jul 2020
Interview
1- call with the recruiter
2- call with the manager for the position
3- Vídeo call with the Manager and a Renewals manager
4- vídeo call with another Renewals manager
5- vídeo call with Another renewals Manager
6- vídeo call with Another Renewals manager.
There were 2 recruiters scheduling everything.
Everyone was nice and polite.
They asked all the same questions.
That was kind of repetitive.
It could be much better if was only one video call with everyone. For the final interview.
Hi there, thanks for the feedback and I'm sorry your process didn't result in the outcome you hoped. I don't fully understand your recommendation and whether you're suggesting one group interview or all the interviews on one day - if the latter, one of the benefits of fully virtual interviewing is that we can be much more flexible in working around schedules, so while there may be more days of interviewing, they're in smaller chunks of time which may be less disruptive than a full multi-hour block of back-to-back interviews. Best of luck in your job search!
