I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NHS (Derry, Northern Ireland) in Sep 2016
Interview
A panel of 3 people asking 3-4 questions each (total around 10) consisting of two men and a woman. One was head of the technical team, one an engineer and the other was head of decontamination. The questions were not typical maintenance questions as they revolved around standards (i.e. ISO etc). and seemed to concentrate on the importance of working to these standards. Also asked a lot of questions specific to medical equipment, so if you have not had direct experience with medical equipment then you were at a serious disadvantage.

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at NHS in Feb 2015
Interview
A very generic interview with almost no discussion or follow up questions. Lasted around 20 minutes which went by quickly. No interest was shown in the contents of my CV which I thought was somewhat odd. My impression from the interview and the overall experience was that they already had an internal candidate for the position but had a legal obligation to advertise it.
