TD interview questions

The process was well structured, with an initial HR interview, followed by an interview with two associates and a case study. Overall it was straightforward, though the case study was challenging, and the associates were very friendly and professional.

I interviewed with a Talent Acquisition representative for a role in TD’s Wealth department in mid-December. The interview was structured and professional, but the interaction felt somewhat impersonal. I was initially told I would hear back within a week. After two weeks, I followed up and was informed there were holiday delays, which I completely understood. She said she was hoping to share feedback in early January. In early February, after another period without updates, I followed up again and received an automated rejection email from workday the next day. While I respect the outcome, communication is a key part of the candidate experience. An automated rejection is perfectly acceptable — however, when a candidate follows up after several weeks of silence, a brief direct response would better align with TD’s renewed branding around being more human and client-focused. I left the process feeling undervalued and genuinely disappointed, as I did not expect this level of communication from an institution like TD. I know several people who work at TD and consistently speak highly of the company’s values and culture, which is why this experience stood out.
