I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Chicago, IL) in Jul 2009
Interview
It was short and simple, why did i want to work there, what can I bring to the company and my past experience on other jobs and situations. I had two interviews the on the same day, one with the supervisor and the second with the Manager. It was a bigger company than the one I was coming from but I felt good vibes that they were very welcoming.

The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target (Hilliard, OH) in Sep 2009
Interview
I was asked to wait for my interviewer in the on site starbucks cafe. I waited there for over 25 minutes before an obviously overworked member of entry-level management ran up and said "Interview?" to which I replied yes and gave my name and attempted to shake his hand. Apparently he was uninterested and I was just told to follow him into the back. Once to the location of the interview (a cold, messy conference room) he left again for around 15 minutes to grab the necessary paperwork. He then read questions straight from the paper and wrote down my answers. Pretty cut and dry questions asking about prior experiences with customer service. Overall my first impressions of the company were quite low. I was taken aback at how messy and dirty the office area of the store seemed in comparison to the way the sales floor was kept.

Interview questions included: tell us about a time you disagreed with a policy and how did you handle it, why do you want to work at target, what are your strengths and weaknesses, what would your former employers/co-workers say about you. The HR-ETL who did one interview was very neutral and cool during the interview. The team leads who did the other interview questions tried to be neutral but seemed a little nervous. Review the other questions on this website and prepare examples for your answers--the other questions given are very accurate.
