I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Reno, NV)
Interview
Walk into the store your interviewing for , feel the place , is there any chaos, if so leave it there, move on . Look at the shelves are they stocked, or are they open and missing products. Look at how the registers are functioning, are there long lines, any and all of these could signal poor management and at least, not enough personnel to properly move the customer through effectively. The interview should be be with the very manager you will work with, your past work experience should be in retail and part of how your base pay is presented. How much you were paid on your last job plays into your asking wage here, negotiate, it without getting angry. Present as a team player.

Interview
First, a phone call from a shift manager to gauge interest, to confirm that a position has opened up, and if interested, when/what day the interviews (x2) will take place. If you pass both back to back interviews with two different managers, you'll have 24-hours to complete a urinalysis test. If you pass the test, you will be invited to a paid half-day orientation. At the end of the orientation, you will be given the option to finish a full eight-hour shift or go home.
