Pros

The whole culture (guided by the leadership principles) expects and cultivates ownership in every employee. Nearly impossible to find "dead wood" (people just punching the clock) anywhere. Everyone is constantly learning.

Cons

Tons of super smart, highly driven individuals working to deliver results means the pace can be frenetic. It's easy to burnout if you don't figure out how to proactively manage your work/life harmony. This means having the backbone to say no sometimes. If you just let it go, you will be run over.

Pros

Compensation is great especially if you factor in growth of stock values Peers are willing to go the extra miles to deliver and are willing raise the bar with their competency. You can actually see Amazonians work by the leadership principles at all levels and your job performance is gauged against them.

Cons

This company is not for people who just want to stay on auto-cruise for their career. You may find some teams that will allow you to fiddle away but it is rare.
