Pros

The delivery team is outstanding. The average project team is far better than most teams you will typically work with.

Cons

Unfortunately this little company is missing a sound strategy. There a severe lack in sales skill or even awareness. The focus an expertise of arvato is way too limited and not surprisingly this results in very few clients which is a significant risk. You would never put your retirement investment in only one basket, why your career? Then there is a Paralyzing dependency on the German headquarter. Most profits do not remain in the US but have to go to Germany. There is no way strategic investment could be made. Even if they were approved, no decisions are being made. The middle management is secretive and 'cliquey'. The top management has caused this mess.

Pros

Flexible work hours and location

Cons

Company does not manage large projects well, and has lost business and seen its reputation tarnished as a result. Arvato NA specializes in Hybris consulting, and has benefited from the buoyant Hybris market. But it now faces competition from leaner agencies. Prospects are murky at best. Hiring and promotions seem based on interpersonal factors and ties to the management, rather than technical depth. Technical leads are often inexperienced and prone to mistakes. At least one "Hybris architect" at the company is unfamiliar with Hybris. Little analysis is done prior to writing code ... the "ready, fire, aim" design method seems to predominate. Since analysis is superficial, software frequently needs to be reworked.. Critically, accurate estimates of times required for deliverables cannot be made. Final outcome : missed deadlines and unhappy clients. Management style within software development teams tends to be autocratic, with little appreciation for the value of building consensus. Technical work can be routine and boring at times, especially on larger projects Helpful

Pros

The management team does a good job in keeping its employees satisfied and they are always there to help. Useful if you wish to practice your communication skills.

Cons

As a CSR the job can be extremely repetitive as well as tedious. I don't advise you to join arvato as a CSR if you are looking for a challenging career, but hey an 18k salary is the reason why.
