Pros

At least I didn’t have to buy my 2 uniform shirts.

Cons

The manager at the time was horrible. A nice person but terrible at managing a store. The aisles were constantly full from deliveries. Expired food was often on the shelves. Exits were blocked. Upper management was unconcerned with any issues going on at the store. We never had enough people to effectively operate things. Pay was poor. Shifts varied wildly and we were reprimanded for trying to get consistent shifts. The schedule was often out only 2 days before it took effect. Oh and the fired an amazing manager for not opening the store when she had a family emergency!! She worked incredibly hard to get that store into shape but they fired her for putting her own family above the store.

Pros

Steady paycheck and convenient if you live near your location

Cons

The Store Manager is the most important role in the entire company. As such, you see great variance between locations in their execution and delivery of services. Running a top 10% location is not enough to satisfy upper management or even impact your potential promotion to District Manager. This company is a turnstile for an uneducated and unmotivated workforce. They are no different that any corporation that pay people below a livable wage and extols the virtues of "|caring".

Pros

Because of my years of experience in management positions and my education, I was hired on as the evening shift First Assistant Manager. Got paid $18.50 for doing exactly the same work as a newly hired cashier. That would be fine for some people, but I wanted to make my way up to Store Manager, and ultimately to Regional.

Cons

By the time I quit, I STILL had never been shown how to do any of the paperwork or even change the price at the pumps. Coworkers who were supposedly under my supervision didn’t respect me because I didn’t know anything. I watched the training videos, but I didn’t learn anything hands on, because I was the evening shift. Got paid $18.50 for doing exactly the same work as a newly hired cashier.
