This is a career graveyard

Pros

Good medical benefits, coupons for products, everything is very slow

Cons

Read some of the more recent reviews and you'll be able to piece together what is happening in EG-America today. Simply put - EG bought a bunch of stores, and handed it to Cumberland Farms to run. Cumberland Farms has no real experience to run a company this size. With the current leadership, they all have sweet deals from the Cumberland Farms acquisition, and they have no interest to change anything. So they are attempting to run a portfolio of 1700+ locations like they did their family style Cumberland Farms brand - without scaling or improving anything. What you'll find is a sea of staff who are just showing up until someone makes them retire or leave. The UK is rarely involved in any EGA operations. In just a few years I've seen 3 people pass away from sickness/old age, and 2 very important titles leave due to arguments with leadership. When Senior titles leave, they are usually replaced by junior people without experience or title. I have seen zero promotions. If you're looking for a career, this is a graveyard or a retirement home, there are no career minded people here. Just Cumberland Farms people holding on until the end. Some basic company details: • EG purchased a C-store portfolio from Kroger in 2018 to enter the US market. • EG purchased Cumberland Farms in 2019, and told the Kroger staff they would be in charge. • EG relocated the EGA HQ from Cinci to the Cumberland Farms office in MA in 2019 and laid off ~95% of the Kroger leadership/staff • If you are applying to EG-America, you are actually applying to Cumberland Farms for all intents and purposes - don't be fooled by the EG brand. • FYI Cumberland Farms was a home grown family business which grew to several hundred stores, but it took them decades to get there. • Since 2019, little has been improved or streamlined. Not till 2021/22 was anything rebranded or even email addresses changed to EG-America. • Most field team staff don’t know who manages or runs programs, systems, or even who to call in an emergency in many departments. • Average age of Corporate Staff at EGA HQ - 55 • Average age of Managers/Leaders at the HQ - 62 • ~99% of the Corporate staff are white • ~90% of the Corporate staff are male • Most new employees leave after 6-12 months from what I've seen personally There is no need to bash anyone, you just need to know that this is not a "5th largest C-store" brand with tons of upward opportunity. Here you will work for someone that cannot use Excel or technology well or at all. No one near or in retirement age is interested in retiring here, nor is the company pushing to ask anyone to leave. Paper invoices are still very alive and well here. I've seen multiple people print emails. When important people leave, they are replaced by junior people who cannot successfully do the job nor do they get the pay or title. For example: the head of Risk left the company in 2022, and was replaced by someone who had never seen a COI prior to 2022. Please read through the reviews below and you'll be able to figure it out for yourself.

Pros

I love this company - the people I work with are fantastic and I truly enjoy what I do.

Cons

The pay raise is nearly impossible to get, it seems... I do a lot of work and train a lot of people, yet some of them are making more than I am because they came in when inflation began.

Pros

Good company environment. Friendly atmosphere and overall enjoyable place to work.

Cons

Leaders need to adjust their teams and work loads. Not even or fair from person to person. No path for growth opportunities.
