Pros

The job is rewarding at times, especially when you make sales. It can feel like a small accomplishment at times. Productivity is rewarded by the management team. Sometimes you will meet guests who are very nice and over time you can develop a small bond to those customers and they will remember to look for you when they are shopping. They ask for you by name sometimes (it is rare).

Cons

The managers can get bad attitudes during the store's rush hour and take it out on sales advisors. From time to time, the store gets really really strict and you get written up for showing up 4 minutes late to your shift. But after a couple of weeks, that comes to pass and then it goes back to a cool, laid-back atmosphere. The corporate employees visit the stores occasionally and they have hot heads so expect them to have an attitude.

Pros

the discount 25% gift cards you will gain lots of experience

Cons

I wish i had read some of the reviews before i signed up for this place. This is by far the worst job I have ever had in my life. and I love what I do but this is the worst run store I have ever come across. everything everyone is saying is true. They hire incompetent management with no people skills. They write you up and document every little thing you do wrong, and sometimes blatantly lie to cover their own ass. They couldn't pay me enough! and they don't. They are unprofessional and if they don't like you they will invent reasons to write you up and try to fire you. Even though due to the nature of the store if you work there you will always be working hard. but it will never be appreciated and anything negative that they can possibly point out will be pointed out. You will never get positive feed back.

Decent retail job

Pros

- Pay is above average compared to other retailers - Opportunity for advancement if you show interest and make it known to management - Great incentives (i.e. $50 gift card if store sales goals are made, occasional 50% discount, etc) - Fellow Employees are friendly for the most part - Ability to dress however you want and don't necessarily have to wear the company's clothes - Company is open to employees having tattoos and piercings (I have a full sleeve for example)

Cons

- Company culture has drastically changed since I started working there 5 years ago; H&M is more concerned with making the bottom line rather then their employees quality of life - Even with increased sales, the hours do not increase (expect to function on the least amount of hours possible) - Overall the company has become your typical "american retail store"; money over the employee's needs.
