Pros

The work life balance is one of the best reasons to work for ITT. Fort Wayne (CS Division) is also a cheap city to live in. Most jobs do not involve a lot of stress since the development cycles are long when compared to a commercial industry. There are a number of programs one can work on.

Cons

It easy easy to get lost in the crowd since ITT is a larger company. Pay is not linked to performance. The average increase is 3% per year. Employees are rewarded with higher pay for going to other companies such as Raytheon and coming back.

Pros

There are interesting technical challenges. Almost everyone has a Master's Degree. Matrix organization allows exposure to projects from start to finish and CAN be pretty nimble in attacking a project. Management trys to let employees work on things that are interesting to them.

Cons

There's no communication from management and between groups. Management will work you to death until you quit - there has been very high turnover in recent months. Benefits are the worst of anywhere I've seen (401(k) with 3% match and 5 year vesting... nearly $300 for monthly health insurance for a family with $35 copay).

Pros

Got to learn and work with some good design, manufacturing, and quality engineers and with a handful of good people in other departments.

Cons

Lack of leadership. Top heavy and lack of accountability with management. Those in the weeds have more responsibility, are held to a higher accountability standard than management, and are wearing too many hats due to slacking and incompetent management. Poor NPI process planning - short cutting DVT, EVT, and PVT = poor production quality resulting in daily rework and RMA’s. Processes are cumbersome, manual, and outdated. Daily and constant fires to put out. CS and Sales is constantly in rotation due to the lack of management competency and support in many areas. Issues are not met with efficient and sustainable solutions. Managements idea of solutions are to add manual tasks and red tape to protect themselves but result in more audit errors towards their subordinates. Management hypocrisy - setting standards and expectations that they don’t even remotely follow themselves. Too much red tape. High turn over. No work life balance.
