Pros

Free lunch at the cafe. Remote working possibilities, although remote being increasingly discouraged. Reasonable expectations of work hours, work load.

Cons

Jefferies tells all their recruits about how being smaller than the bulge bracket firms allows Jefferies to be more nimble with less bureaucracy and less politics. This is completely false. The politics, bureaucracy, and lethargy of the large banks are just as present, if not worse, at Jefferies. Management changes in technology have been for the worse. The new upper management hires are arrogant and have poor listening skills.

Pros

good to get the foot in the door if you want to get in wall street

Cons

All the rumors are true, they expect you work investment banking hours while paying you lower end of equity research salary, management is poorly organized, people left and get 60% -80% pay raise.
