Pros

Good life/work balance. Singapore is a great city to live as an expat.. Wonderful offices in the middle of the city. BJBS has a very aggressive Asia strategy and is expanding very quickly.

Cons

The environment isn't challenging enough. It doesn't offer the same opportunities for advancement as other offices do. The management is lagging behind EU and US offices.

Stingy on headcount unless you're a Relationship Manager

Pros

Competent and experienced staff, small team that works well together in general. Get lots of exposure to large projects even at junior levels. Lots of room for self exploration when you get an idea and want to develop a project to improve the team's performance. The company will start to grow significantly once the various financial crises blow over. The company will assign you to a dept according to your strength and will not pigeonhole you if you have a large portfolio of skills.

Cons

Poor career growth prospects as the team is likely to remain small for the medium term (especially in cost centers like research). Little to no training for new interns/ staff; you're expected to learn on your own. On the social side, sometimes the employees form cliques and its hard to break in. Sometimes directions for juniors is vague or undefined; its not for people who need structured environments. On certain days you are expected to find work to do on your own.

See review. fairness is good, people are helpful, work life balanced, got challenged every day, we get honored for good work

Cons

no downsides at all, most issues are solved quickly and constructive. there is actually no more to say about it.
