Pros

100% remote, which is a huge plus for flexibility and avoiding commute-related stress. It’s a good starting point for those new to the tech-adjacent space who want hands-on experience with data annotation, content moderation, and digital safety evaluation. Training is well-structured, and there’s helpful support during onboarding. They also offer mental health resources, which is appreciated given the nature of the work.

Cons

The pay of $13/hr is low considering the mental and emotional demands, especially when evaluating sensitive or disturbing content. (You can opt out of those tasks but won't see many basic tasks.) While it might be reasonable for basic tasks, more complex or intense assignments merit better compensation. Additionally, there’s minimal opportunity for advancement or pay increases, which may be limiting for those looking to grow within the role.

Pros

Flexible working hours used to be a key highlight. Supportive and friendly team environment. Seniors were approachable and knowledgeable, offering good mentorship and learning opportunities

Cons

The culture is shifting rapidly toward a rigid corporate setup, losing its original charm. Many senior employees have already left or are serving notice, causing instability. Founders have exited, and new leadership seems disconnected from the team’s values. Weekend work is becoming the norm instead of the exception. Salary hikes have been disappointing for the past year, with little hope for improvement. Work-from-home perks are being revoked, and return-to-office mandates are being pushed without much flexibility.

Pros

Free coffee, and AC..well mostly free.

Cons

I worked for Telus International in Las Vegas, NV, from April 27, 2023, to March 25, 2024. They hired me to moderate content for TikTok. However, they failed to inform me about the dangers associated with this job. Approximately three months before my termination, under fabricated reasons despite being a model employee who worked diligently without complaints (I moderated over 300k pieces of user-uploaded content), I witnessed an incident that profoundly affected me. When Israel responded to an attack by Hamas, I witnessed an act of extreme cruelty. I saw Israeli soldiers murder a young boy and then run over his lifeless body with an excavator while laughing. This was my breaking point. The world needs to understand the atrocities happening to the Palestinian people, I want the soldiers I saw murder that child held accountable period. Telus International, fearing exposure of their negligence, in many areas of this program, fired me after I brought it to their attention that I was going to seek medical help outside of the company. I have been recently diagnosed with CPTSD. Consequently, I am determined to hold them accountable and will not rest until justice is served. I have been attempting to obtain the NDA I signed with Telus International, but their HR department seems unable to use basic communication methods like email or phone. They are refusing to provide me with the necessary information to pursue legal action against them. I am fully committed to ensuring that this company faces consequences for their actions. Firing someone who they damaged to avoid consequences is unacceptable. I need the NDA I signed, any other training materials with my signature, and every coaching result from my stay. I have no email addresses to contact the proper individuals for this request, so it starts here. My old Operations Manager, Alex, should have that documentation or at least know how to obtain it. They fired a soldier with CPTSD because they didn't have the medical staff to help me.
