Pay, Benefits, and skilled colleagues [ worker bees]

Cons

No management direction. Terrible culture that promotes racist and sexist ways of thinking, filling positions based off of quotas and not experience. Would rather place an employee on a "PIP" with goals that were not even attainable then to just lay the person off..... providing absolutely no severance. Extremely long hours as employees are not empowered to make even common sense decisions. I still have nightmares of having to create business cases to get approval for "just do it" level decisions.

Half decent salary and good pension.

Cons

Unprofessional environment. Flagrant disregard for health and safety. Big “Lad Culture” perpetuated by management picked from the same circle of friends. Uncaring attitude towards quality. Repeatedly told by management that H&S and quality are top priority when it’s obvious production comes first, they turn a blind eye to all unsafe practices and corner cutting as longs as blades are going out the door, these things only matter if something goes wrong, then it’s the operatives fault for not following correct procedures. Parking is a bit rubbish.

Good people, good pay, good benefits.

Cons

Salaried employees are on the clock 24/7. You come in on your days off and between shifts. Work most holidays. Cut-throut / finger pointing mentality in prevelant 12 hour shifts can be brutal. Especially night shift
