Pros

Vestas is a great place to learn about wind, renewables, how products and components work and to meet a lot of great people. They have an awesome onboarding system and really work to make sure you get trained in whatever area you need.

Cons

Layoffs started within 3 months of my hire date. The wind industry is not a stable career unless you are in the service technician category. They hired the best and brightest and laid them off without qualms. Although Vestas is a "global company" don't ever forget that it is a Danish company and when the going gets tough, everything goes back to Denmark.

Pros

Great coworkers. Excellent benefits. Paid well for the work. Windsor VP/GM is a fantastic man and appears to have become the only Dane in Colorado that cares about his people. Safety in all aspects of the work was a priority. Out of all the Managers in Windsor, the Safety Manager was the only manager that would listen and act on worker concerns.

Cons

Uncertainty concerning jobs. Danish senior management has forgotten what Vestas was built on which is the people. Workers are now just a payroll figure, and layoffs determined by how much you make, not how you have helped the company. The factory safety is already suffering and it shows in the increased injuries and more serious incidents that are occurring. Vestas' dedication to safety has gone down the tubes and the workers recognize this. "If they don't care, why should we?".
