Pros

Vestas fosters an environment where talented employees are allowed to pursue projects and activities that interest them with enthusiastic support from management. The opportunity to create synergies is nearly limitless and new, well organized ideas are welcomed and encouraged. Meetings can be requested (with justification) between almost any departments with little approval required. Working hours are very flexible; there are no scheduled lunches or break times. Start and end times too can vary based on employee responsibilities as well as both personal and professional obligations. Appointments are easy to make during the day and while deadlines need to be met, managers almost never micro manage.

Cons

Vestas' flexible working environment does more harm than good do in large to the company's complete lack of organization. Coherent business processes either don't exist in sufficient form to follow, are out of date, or are so difficult to find that they are never used. Every day is different at Vestas. The company spends countless working hours reinventing processes and policies for things that have been done a dozen times before. Job titles and position profiles are ignored as a rule. Job scopes are constantly expanded and changed and employees need to take care that their position profile adequately encompasses their actual responsibilities and contributions. There are no standards for documentation, memorandums, work instructions, request forms, etc. Direction from senior management is difficult to come by and there is very little accountability at any appreciable level. Mandates are pushed by different groups with little regard to impact in other areas. The IT infrastructure is also very poor. Systems are regularly taken offline for maintenance and information databases are typically unreliable.

Pros

The graduate program at Vestas gives you a lot of opportunities to learn and to travel. You get exposed to high-level problems.

Cons

Currently, Vestas has some financial problems because their share price is dropping, although sales are good. A lot of people are being fired, and very few are getting hired.
