Pros

- Nice central office with a nice rooftop - Salary bands and promotional paths are more or less public, so you can know what to expect and when - Cool all hands events

Cons

- They overhired for years. Now they did 1st mass layoff in 2020, 2nd in 2022 and said there would be no more. Guess what, they did 3rd layoff in 2023. - Job is not stable. I have seen people not passing probation, because their work was no longer needed. Many job contracts are limited to only two years, so you are under constant stress. - Business is not doing great in Germany, just look at the official yearly numbers. Company's international revenue is declining rapidly, leading to working under pressure and uncertainty. - Many smart people leave and those who stay are quiet for fear of being laid off. Terrible culture. - 4x day RTO and gossips about 5x day RTO. - Constant reorganizations etc. - Job satisfaction is low (as per Voice surveys) - Negative outlook for DE

Pros

Plenty of great benefits: - leadership is looking provide with learning opportunities and offer various programs - good work life balance if you know to manage your own work/life well - takes feedback from employees and acts on it

Cons

- there is too much beaurucracy at Level 3+ - if you don't do as managers expect, they will indirectly punish you. Even though they say they encourage learning from mistakes. Doesn't reflect in the performance bonus or salary raise - you need to be on your A game on dealing with politics otherwise you will suffer mentally. I guess this is true for any big corporates? - if you are not loudest person in the room, then you can forget any growth. Also depends on managers I guess but most managers i saw are like this

Pros

Cons

Terrible higher management Nepotism to the highest degree You work as hard as you can, but if you are marked as "unworthy" then you may as well just give up No transparency and people just get fired at the drop of a hat
