Pros

Good pay. Generally good benefits. Chance to travel internationally. Good work/life balance with a somewhat flexible work schedule. Since many of tk's sub-groups are smaller, you do not get many of the disadvantages of working for huge corporations.

Cons

Not much opportunity for career growth (In my group). No strong foundation in global communication as well as management communication (in my group). thyssenkrupp is working towards becoming "one company" but is not there yet. Important to note: Since tk is such a large conglomerate, with multiple sub-companies often working individually from each other, I'm sure the employee experience varies depending on the group you are employed by...

Pros

HSA medical plan is good. Room for advancement if you are willing to relocate.

Cons

IT issues, and lack of implementing improved applications. Company leadership lacks the business sense to increase service cost to maximize profitability from a Distribution standpoint. Lack of investments in adequate and reliable equipment (ROI). Upper management and CEO lack the ability to be "proactive instead of always being reactive." National accounts really hurt and are not practical in certain distribution regions. The company does not seem to do business to make money. The cost of doing business especially in the San Francisco bay area markets needs to be re-valuated to be able to afford to attract and retain the best operational talent, and provide the level of service that is expected by customers. The safety culture is overly saturated, redundant and impractical.
