Before I comment I want to make it clear that not everyone that stays in Arvato is bad/incompetent and not everyone has left is valuable/ a loss for the company .However Arvato misses the fundamentals of a good workplace and management lacks trust , autonomy and ethics by a long shot .And this act of overlooking any wrong doing both by management and HR has created a cycle of toxic environment.
Employee retention is scandalous. Expectations/targets are unreasonable, reprimanding is chosen over supporting/teaching. You learn what is expected of you when you make mistakes; and mistakes are not seen as leaning blocks but reasons to cut your bonus .
To be able to be promoted you should really know what the interview board wants 'that' day ; flexibility and creativity is not welcome in ideas/projects.
Most middle management knows only how to operate a reporting dashboard (if that; so many error in reports to the client and/or team) and have no leadership skills. They see 'red', they are on your back. You could say the management carries quite narcissistic traits where by they take little or no responsibility for their errors; they 'love-bomb' you with a few nights out, a coffee machine, a few bean bags and a survey about employee satisfaction (which they did not take into account and only published a few good scores in an email in order to silence everyone) and after you feel slightly secure and confident ; the undermining and put-downs start.
If you made a film about employment in Arvato ; it would make a very good satire about the human condition ; power ,ego and effect of trauma. However in return Arvato - forever in denial- will probably take credit thinking they have actually produced something extraordinary. It would be actually be very funny if you weren't living it.
I do appreciate that Arvato is a vendor (which is the answer to anything that cannot be done) and this is used as an escape to any attempt to be somewhat creative; promote change or resolve conflicts .I guess for some ; to follow rules is easier than to think, negotiate and take risks .Management does not trust their own judgement and other managers either, which in return is projected onto employees. This has become so widespread that people have almost become used to it and when the odd time someone shouts 'The King is naked' , s/he is outcast very quickly.
Management is not even careful in their language anymore , insults and rude comments are common .It is a terrible shame really as I have seen a lot of smart ; dedicated people being reduced to tears and suffer great amount of stress .Transparency is non existing and you could be judged without a trail very easily. There are different rules for different people and generally whoever is the loudest wins. I think history has a name for such acts and how they resulted in - go figure.
And no Arvato , this is not 'business' as you claim to be nor NOT putting up with bad conduct from your part makes your employees any less resilient .
Micromanagement is shocking (if you sneeze you must report it ) ,has reverse effects than what management hopes for - people work less productively and with more errors . Please tell me how is this good business for your client ? In the end you are jeopardising your client's reputation and products/services and your own. Arvato will only sustain their business as long as employees are afraid and most fear tactics used by management is actually false (i.e. you are not allowed to put a comment on Glassdoor ,your bonus being cut for being sick means you are not a good employee , you did not answer such and such correctly in an interview , you are not a team player if you disagree , a good CSAT means we are doing great as a vendor etc etc ).
I would really hope some courageous, selfless manager with great vision would put an end to all this however they do indeed exist in the company ; however are not very popular .Very very sad .
