Pros

Team! People hired in the last 1-2 years are incredible, The brand has attracted amazing minds after the brilliant marketing efforts and valuation. A good way to understand fin-tech, business opportunities in this space and rebrand your career through interactions with amazing but somewhat unhappy colleagues.

Cons

-Poor management - Run almost exactly like 2 dudes in a garage, hierarchy everywhere. Every random thing needs founder approval, Zero transparency in decision making. -Time to clean house - The fossils who started 5 years ago have not been up-skilled or matured to handle the roles they hold today. Extremely insecure attitude leading to defensive behaviour making it impossible for new people to feel part of the journey. -No empathy - the rating and performance management is exactly like the marketing, window washing.

We’re sending major kudos to our Recruiting team for hiring the great people that make up N26. Thanks for your nice words here. To address your concerns around decision making, our executive leadership team has taken this feedback on-board and is working to create more autonomy and decentralize decision making, while bringing more clarity and data into the process. Employee participation and open feedback has always been welcomed and encouraged at N26. Not only do we respect different views and approaches, we believe it is essential to who we are. We’re working to create a model of employee representation which is modern, digital, and inclusive to all employees. At the same time, we are supporting the formation of a traditional works council in Germany, and are currently working together with the electoral board to set up an elections event that will ensure compliance with all safety laws, so that all employees are well protected and can participate. As a growing company, we respect and celebrate all tenures at N26. We love the fresh perspective and ideas that new joiners contribute, and we are equally grateful for the wealth of knowledge that seasoned N26ers bring to the business each and every day. We have a fantastic Organizational Development team who work directly with N26’s people managers and leadership to support continuous learning, and to develop, improve and reinforce the business strategies, structures and processes. There are lots of channels at N26 to speak up and share feedback. If you'd like to keep this conversation going, you can get in touch with the Employee Experience Partner for your department. Our leadership team believes in an open door policy, and would also welcome the chance to chat or provide you with more context and insights into the business. Thank you for your feedback, and for being on this journey to build a bank the world loves to use.

Thanks for your feedback. Members of our leadership team are selected for their roles based on their expertise in their respective areas. We follow a structured selection process for all candidates, and our Recruitment team is passionately committed to hiring the best talent. Like every company, there is always a level of attrition that sees people move on to other opportunities. We look to counteract this with new programs and initiatives to support our employees as we grow, as well as closely monitoring and taking action on your feedback from our engagement survey, as well as here on Glassdoor. We will also introduce a formal succession planning process, to ensure smooth senior leadership transitions, should they occur. This will enable leaders to focus on developing employees to fill the responsibilities of these key roles. If you’d like to keep the conversation going, please get in touch with the Employee Experience partner for your department.
