Interview
I applied through employee referral and got the email from the recruiter day after. It was quick. I just had my first round which is the video interview. The video interview had 4 questions and you had 30 sections reading each question and about 1-5 minutes to answer depends on what is the question, the length will be different.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at HubSpot (Singapur) in Feb 2019
Interview
Hands down, the most pleasant, efficient, enriching, structured and dare I say “HEARTfelt” interview process I've gone through! The interview process was very smooth, fast-sailing and all happened within a span of 2-3 weeks.
Interview process was well-designed to assess the suitability of the hire.
1) Video Interview (Heard from some other interviewees that there was a change in process and it’s no longer required)
2) Phone Interview with Recruiter
3) Role-Play with Interviewer 1 + Product Demo with Interviewer 2, who are Customer Support Managers
4) Interview On Site Individual Interview (A) – Product Demo with Product Expert
5) Interview On-site Individual Interview (B) – Behavioural Interview with Onboarding Team Manager
6) Interview On-site individual Interview (C) – Behavioural Interview with Head of Customer Success
7 or 8) Potentially Follow-up Interviews with Recruiter or Reporting Manager
Interviewers were very genuine, sincere, personable, professional and helpful. Right off the bat, you would be able to spot that they are really invested in personal growth and development. They give really useful feedback to help you perform better and offer recommendations so that you can then apply them to your career and personal growth beyond the interview. I was given feedback from both recruiters and interviewers for every round I’ve gone through. It never felt like it was a one-way speak but it was always a conversation with every single one of them. Anyone will be really lucky to have peers and managers so invested in your growth. They have done that for candidates who are not even part of the company yet, that’s the extent of how strong the DNA of Hubspot is.
What I found rare was how transparent they were and how they managed your expectations with regards to the role. They really wanted to make sure what you’re essentially getting into.
Overall, the process is a testament and truly reflective of Hubspot's strong, positive, humble and transparent culture and heavy focus on growth. Just this process alone demonstrates how Hubspot don’t just preach about what they do but they walk the talk. Special shoutout to Yuan Feng for being super swift to move the interview process forward. Kudos to Virlyn for preparing every single one of us for each stage of the interview process and proving us with the prep resources.
I just can’t wait to get started. :)

Interview
Probably the best interview experience so far, the entire process was engaging, efficient and enjoyable. Plenty of constructive feedbacks and tips provided by the interviewers and recruiters on areas of improvement. The whole process was very well designed and planned. Throughout the process, while Hubspot is interviewing me, I'm also getting to know more about Hubspot. Waiting time was minimal, lightning speed response from the recruiters (follow-ups/results).
Interview process:
1) Video recording
2) Phone screening
3) Video Interview via Zoom
- Role Play
- Product Demo
4) Final face-to-face interview
- Product Demo
- 2 Interviews
Overall, a really positive interview/learning experience. Can't wait to start!
